About us We are a voluntary organization aimed at fostering a greater interest in the Atkinson Art Gallery and visual arts in general. Founded in 1957 we have purchased over nineteen works
for the gallery, including Maria Donska by Jacob Epstein and Mother and
Child by Celia Baillie pictured. Other works include Ruin, Dentdale by
John Piper, Three-Way Piece Points by Henry Moore and Allegro Strepitoso
by Carel Weight. Membership Membership is £15.00 per annum for adults and £6.00 per annum for under 16s. Members are entitled to free entrance to all talks hosted by the Friends (see the Events page). You will also receive invitations to private views of all exhibitions held at the gallery.
